I'm writing you from Jerusalem, Israel, to update you on a major issue with significant developments.

Right now, there's a serious threat from some European countries to indict Israeli and U.S. Military and Governmental Officials - including former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld - before international courts.

At the ACLJ, we're very concerned about the ramifications of this issue.  We've been meeting with a series of high-ranking Israeli government officials as well as leaders from the United States.

And within the next few days, our Special Operations Unit will be heading to Strasburg, France - meeting with lawyers throughout the world - to develop a sound strategy to eliminate this legal threat once and for all.

We're calling this issue ''Terrorist Lawfare'' - plain and simple, we're dealing with terrorists using the legal system to conduct warfare.

The ACLJ is in the lead on this troubling issue - protecting the right of governments to defend themselves.  We will not stand by and allow terrorists to use the courts as a weapon against freedom and liberty.

As you know, we're also in Jerusalem in order to follow the latest developments involving the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and its political push to control the Temple Mount.

And in the United States, our legal teams are in ''overdrive'' at this moment - racing to file our amicus brief with the Supreme Court of the United States.

Case #08-472, Salazar v. Buono, represents an important opportunity to protect your right to public expression of faith.

If the ACLU is allowed to force removal of the cross in this case, every public expression of religious faith in our country could be under fire - terribly at risk.

Thank you for your faithful support.  I'll keep you updated on developments from Israel as they unfold.
